Overbooking

It's like a long text message exchange, where irritation and tenderness are intertwined to the point of indistinguishability. On the one hand, there is the hero, exhausted from overload; on the other, there is the girl, who is both poison and antidote at the same time. They are drawn to each other not because it is ‘right,’ but as a habit that is difficult to give up, even if you know it won't get any easier.

The text smells of cigarette smoke, night-time shop windows and overloaded calendars: meetings are cancelled, emotions are postponed, but jealousy and confessions manage to seep into every line. The funny and sad irony is that, despite all this fatigue and toxicity, there is also sympathy, attraction, and a kind of private little world that is held together by prohibitions, ‘don't touch’ signs, and expensive shoes.
