Description
Sometimes the universe looks like an old pair of faithful boots - scuffed, soaked, but still moving forward. They seem to have their own philosophy: it doesn't matter what you're drinking – wine, beer, or just the air of freedom – what matters is that your steps still sound in rhythm with some punk anthem. The cobbler is philosophising about life, while an old record, which has long become his personal gospel, is playing in his head. Dust settles on books and discs, and with it, on illusions. And yet, in those slightly unsteady steps, there's something truly alive: sobriety doesn't save, drunkenness doesn't ruin, it's just time passing, and the boots are drinking. Original
Te buty piją i ja piłem też.
Żona to wie i moi kumple też. W czymże jest prawda?
Zapytał Piłat.
Ja piłem grubo i buty piją.
By świadczyć prawdę, to milczeć trzeba.
Czy to już wiesz, czy wiem to ja?
Książki i płyty pokryje kurz.
Czy ja to wiem?
Czy wiesz to już?
Te buty piją powiedział szewc.
Ja piłem grubo i buty też. Te buty piją powiedział szewc.
Lecz jedno mamy tu życie tylko.
Trudno jest pisać dziś o muzyce i trudno śpiewać dziś o ekonomii.
A moją małą prywatną Biblią wciąż pozostaje mi London Calling.
Te buty piją powiedział szewc.
Ja piłem grubo i buty też.
Te buty piją powiedział szewc.
Lecz jedno mamy tu życie tylko.
Te buty piją powiedział szewc.
Ja piłem grubo i buty też.
Te buty piją powiedział szewc.
Lecz jedno mamy tu życie tylko.
English translation
These shoes drink and I drank too.
My wife knows it and so do my friends. What is the truth in?
Pilate asked.
I drank heavily and my shoes are drinking.
To testify to the truth, you must remain silent.
Do you already know this or do I know this?
Books and records will be covered with dust.
Do I know that?
Do you know this already?
These shoes are drinking, said the shoemaker.
I drank heavily and so did my shoes. These shoes are drinking, said the shoemaker.
But we only have one life here.
It is difficult to write about music today and it is difficult to sing about economics today.
And my little private Bible is still London Calling.
These shoes are drinking, said the shoemaker.
I drank heavily and so did my shoes.
These shoes are drinking, said the shoemaker.
But we only have one life here.
These shoes are drinking, said the shoemaker.
I drank heavily and so did my shoes.
These shoes are drinking, said the shoemaker.
But we only have one life here.
