When the sun is beating down mercilessly, and a person still stands there – not out of stupidity, but out of some stubborn faith that a miracle will eventually turn the corner. It seems like nothing is happening, only my heart is singing along with the wind - a little off-key, but sincerely, like on an old tape recorder. Memory in moments like these becomes almost alive: touch it and you hear laughter again, smell the leather, even the pain feels familiar. I wish I could go back, even for a moment, just to hug you – not for the future, but simply to hold onto the present before it completely dissolves into darkness.
