Somewhere between myths about love and the reality of the big city, a new cult is emerging - a cult of freedom, glamour and overly loud stories. Here, feelings are no longer currency; they have been replaced by banknotes and flashes on iPhones. And the brighter the jewellery shines, the less tempting the words ‘I love you’ become.

It sounds bold and sweet at the same time: like the soundtrack to a night where the lift stops on the 30th floor, and beyond that there is only smoke, carnal fantasies and confidence in one's own untouchability. The music makes everything even brighter, turning every line into lights on a neon sign that flashes the same message: ‘Don't look for romance here, only pleasure and play.’
