Description
A sad card with festive glitter around the edges.
It seems to say ‘Feliz año nuevo,’ but behind the greeting hides a crumpled ball of loneliness: a calendar with dates crossed out with a cross - Christmas, 14 February, birthday. All holidays are equally grey when there is no one to share the cake and candles with.
There is anger, melancholy, and an attempt to joke about ‘más solo que un perro,’ but in reality, there is a desire to bring back, even for a moment, the warmth that once was. The result is a congratulatory track with a hangover flavour: formally ‘Happy New Year,’ but in essence, an admission that it is impossible to forget.

Original
Y no supe qué contestar
Y me hace daño, y a veces te odio, y a veces te extraño
Solo me queda desearte feliz año nuevo (a huevo)
Ella quiere beber, ella quiere pistear
No quiere volver, no quiere contestar
Y me hace daño, y a veces te odio, y a veces te extraño
¡Ea!
¡Pero pórtate bien, chiquitita!

English translation
happy new year
This call is just an excuse to hear you again
My family asked about you a lot of times
And I didn't know what to answer
Because of you, this Christmas wasn't special anymore.
May February not even arrive (ya-yai)
Because on the 14th I'm going to be lonelier than a dog.
And I don't know if it won't bother me not to see you anymore
I don't want summer to come and see you with someone else hugging
And how agitated
And I'm very hurt, crossing out the days that I haven't been with you
Looking at the damn calendar that tells me I'll spend my birthday sad
And it hurts me, and sometimes I hate you, and sometimes I miss you
Yes time passes, but I don't get over you
I just have to wish you a happy new year (egg)
I miss you (I miss you, but without you)
It's only been a month and it seems like a year (ya-ya, compete Manuel)
And Armenta, you know
And because we are the ones who are
His friend Ar-men-ta
She wants to drink, she wants to dance
He doesn't want to come back, he doesn't want to answer
Because I paid him badly
Where are you little girl? It's not going to change
But it's my baby and the harsh reality comes when it dawns
Girl, the time tells me when you're not here
You keep denying that you were happy with me
My everything, darling, I gave you everything
And, I'm very hurt, crossing out the days that I haven't been with you
Looking at the damn calendar that tells me I'll spend my birthday sad
And it hurts me, and sometimes I hate you, and sometimes I miss you
Time passes, but I don't get over you
All I have left to do is wish you a happy new year (I miss you)
Tell me, Armenta, my king (uh)
happy new year
Hey!
But be good, little one!
