Over Again

It’s as if the quarrel is already over, but the voice inside is still completing phrases that were not said on time. In my head there is a rehearsal of forgiveness, curtsy and unspoken “sorry”, and in the background something is trembling slightly, like a string in a darkened room. The song is like an attempt to whisper “let’s do it again,” but without pathos. Simply because it’s a pity to let go of something that rarely happens. Or just once.
