It's pulsing somewhere between sleep and a call that no one answers. The air is thick, like the anticipation of that very moment when someone promises "I'll be back in a minute" and then disappears into the noise as if they were never there. His voice is translucent, like a reflection in a shop window at night, and his bass line lazily stretches out, like thoughts that are stuck on repeat. The music seems to argue with itself: sometimes it calls, sometimes it pushes away, and there's something painfully true in this strange rhythm. It feels like the feeling has burned out, but my hand still reaches to check my phone, just in case he's texted. It all sounds like the inner monologue of someone who has already realised they've let go... but is still trying to convince themselves to believe it completely.
