Almost

Almost is a surprisingly resilient state. It seems like everything has been let go, analysed, and put in its place, but there's still a nagging "what if" inside. On the outside, there's even breathing and a show of calm, but inside, there's an eternal struggle between memory and common sense. Words spin in circles like old plastic without a new song, and only the morning light reminds us that we can survive anything, even what seemed like part of our own body. It just needs a little more time. Just a little bit. Almost.
