A Sorrowful Reunion

The sadness here is not oppressive - it flows gently, like rain on glass, and is even somewhat beautiful. Everything seems to have ended long ago, but thoughts still wander through the puddles of old feelings. There is a strange calmness in this: when the pain is no longer acute, but simply part of the landscape. It's as if two souls tried to become one, but ended up on different sides of the window - each with its own reflection, its own ‘what if.’ And even if the answers are never found, the memory itself sounds bright - almost like a farewell that has finally learned to be warm.
