Love, of course, is not rubbish - you can't just throw it away in the first bin you come across. But sometimes you really want to: gather all those jumbled feelings, pack them into a box labelled ‘don't call - I don't miss you’ and send them by express delivery to nowhere. The song describes exactly this state: when your heart has almost convinced itself that it's over, but your memory still kicks in at every familiar sound.

The words seem to go round and round, like an old record player stuck on a groove where ‘I love you’ and ‘it hurts’ sound the same. And yet there is something human in this repetition - a quiet hope that if you say it out loud, it will become easier. Or maybe not. But it sounds beautiful.
