There are evenings when the moon shines too brightly and the phone is too quiet. Everything seems to be as usual - friends, messages, familiar jokes - but inside, one ‘what if’ keeps nagging at you. The awkwardness becomes a character of its own - the one that makes you delete a message before sending it, even though every letter already hurts.

Holidays come and go, dates change, but thoughts still revolve around one ‘almost’. Almost said it. Almost wrote it. Almost made up my mind. Sometimes friendship is a form of self-destruction with a smile on your face and a glass in your hand, when you want more but pretend that everything is okay. Because it's scary to realise that you're the only one who thinks it's not okay.
