Wasted On You

Sometimes addiction does not seem like a tragedy, but rather a habit - like a cup of coffee, without which the morning cannot begin. Only instead of cheerfulness, it gives you a slight toxic high and the feeling that life may be painful, but at least it's vivid. All reason recedes when your memory slips in that same face and the familiar ‘what if this time everything will be different’.

When you already know that the relationship is dragging you down, but your hand still reaches for the phone to dial the number. And yes, the mind longs for peace, and the heart longs for drama. Summer is ending, the bonfires have burned out, but the smoke still lingers - so beautiful that it's almost not a pity to leave your youth behind in it.
