If Only

Sometimes the past sounds louder than the music in your headphones. Especially when your memory throws up scenes where everything could have turned out differently - if it weren't for fatigue, pride, or that foolish belief that tomorrow there would definitely be a chance to fix everything. The song swings between light and shadow, as if two people are standing on different sides of a glass: close, but out of reach. Here, regret and salvation come in one breath - that very ‘if only’ that lives in everyone who has ever tried to be too right, too human. And then realised: sometimes it's not faith that saves you, but simply the opportunity to breathe next to someone who hasn't left yet.
