It's a funny and slightly bitter feeling when you realise that you're rushing back to the same place where you've already been burned. It's clear from the very first words, but you go ahead anyway because otherwise it's not interesting. You seem like a smart person, with self-irony and awareness, but as soon as someone smiles a little warmer at you, you put everything on the line: money, time, self-control. And let the glass spine crack, but at least your heart beats louder.

There is a lot of self-aware drama in this song: everything breaks beautifully, pain turns into a soundtrack, and self-irony saves you from complete collapse. It feels like you're listening to someone who knows they're going to lose, but plays anyway - simply because they can't do otherwise. And there's something ridiculously alive about that.
