Sometimes it seems that other people's lives are nothing but highlights: golden light, well-maintained roads, a guitar in the boot and the wind in your hair. But beneath this glossy cover, there are usually crumbs of reality hidden away - the very ones that make your back ache in the morning and your fingers tremble on the steering wheel. This is not a story about the perfect girl from the music video, but about the one who once sold ‘treasures’ found in the rubbish bin and dreamed of simply not falling apart.
There is something almost sacred about this: going through the mud, loneliness and disturbing Craigslist rooms - and not losing your voice. Not for pity, but to remind us that behind every beautiful sunset, behind every confident ‘everything is fine,’ there is a whole hardcore biography. It's just that not everyone has seen all the episodes of this documentary.
