Once upon a time, roads gave way, and people watched with admiration. Now those same roads seem longer, and mirrors seem more honest than one would like. The world seems smaller, and the silence louder. Even the pillow, the eternal ally of all morning tears, has turned away somewhere.

It's funny and sad: the enemies are the same, only the names have changed. The shoulders still remember how to hold pride, but the hands fold themselves into reconciliation. Fate, as always, has a sense of humour - only now it laughs more often.

And yet we keep going. Although not along the same roads where laughter once rang out and girls' eyes sparkled. Only now, instead of the music of footsteps, there is tired but stubborn breathing: alive, therefore moving forward.
