Description
Sometimes the world collapses not to the sound of drums, but between shelves of shampoo. You stand there, wet from the rain and your thoughts, looking at thirty varieties of conditioner - for brittle, dry, coloured and devoted hair. And none of them promise to wash away what is gone from your mind. It's funny and hurtful: you're a grown woman, and here you are sobbing next to the yoghurts, as if they were to blame for someone falling out of love.
The trolley creaks, a bottle of wine rolls along as your only consolation, and the cashier looks at you with that expression - hang in there, girl. And you hang in there. Holding on to the handle of the basket, to what's left of your self-irony, to the thought that tomorrow, maybe, you'll be able to choose an air conditioner again. Or at least stop crying between the discounts and special offers.
Lyrics and translation
Original
I'm at the supermarket
About to flip
'Cause I can't even decide what damn conditioner to get
Crying in the shop like an idiot
How'd I let a man make me feel like this?
Got my keys to the car, then I drive to the shop
Walking up, down the aisle with no list in my palm
How it rains, how it pours from the whites of my eyes
Little girl looking at me, I smile, then I cry (ooh-ooh)
Baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, why'd you (ooh-ooh)
Leave me, leave me, leave me when you know I need you? (Ooh-ooh)
Liquor in my basket, 'bout to pop a couple bottles (ooh-ooh)
For you, you, you
I'm at the supermarket
About to flip
'Cause I can't even decide what damn conditioner to get
Crying in the shop like an idiot
How'd I let a man make me feel like this? (Think 'bout)
Got my cash in my hand, and I'm standing in line
I got bread, I got juice, yeah, I got gin, I got time
How it rains, how it pours, on my sheets, on my clothes
Somebody ask me if I'm okay, I say yes, but I mean no, no, no, no, no
Baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, why'd you (ooh-ooh)
Leave me, leave me, leave me when you know I need you? (Ooh-ooh)
Liquor in my basket, 'bout to pop a couple bottles (ooh-ooh)
For you, you, you
I'm at the supermarket
About to flip (I believe I'm about to flip)
'Cause I can't even decide what damn conditioner to get
Crying in the shop like an idiot
How'd I let a man make me feel like this?
Ooh-ooh, oh-na-na-na (na-na-na-na)
About to flip
'Cause I can't even decide what damn conditioner to get (oh, na-na-na-na)
Crying in the shop like an idiot
How'd I let a man make me feel like this?
Baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, why'd you (ooh-ooh)
Leave me, leave me, leave me when you know I need you?
Liquor in my basket, 'bout to pop a couple bottles
For you, you, you
I'm at the supermarket
About to flip (about to flip)
'Cause I can't even decide what damn conditioner to get
Crying in the shop like an idiot
How'd I let a man make me feel like this?
I'm running down the aisle, feeling empty and free
Got my checkout in the checkout, as you check out what we're for
Passed in the hell, now I'm the meat on the spot
I will save it all my life and just feel you, but you're not on me
Oh, no, no, no, you left me here
Say what you want, but you left me here
But you left me here
