Description
Sometimes love isn't roses and champagne, but a quiet ‘stay if you want.’ When uncertainty, not confidence, becomes the soundtrack to a relationship. It seems warm nearby, but every movement is like trying to hold a sunbeam with your hands. Everything is shaky, everything is tender, everything is wrong, and yet terribly alive.
The song expresses the eternal dilemma of adult feelings: between the desire to bind and the fear of suffocating. Between ‘be with me’ and ‘be free’. The heart beats in time with someone else's breath, but the head whispers, ‘Don't get used to it.’ And the result is this strange chemistry - happiness with an aftertaste of sadness, when love is not like a home, but like an open window.

Original
Probably should've known by now.
You don't have to read my mind 'cause I'll tell it to your face.
If you wanna leave, you can, or you could put your little heart in me now.
Ain't this how it's supposed to be?
I want you here, but I don't know how not to tie you down.
We could take it one day at a time, or we could spend it all right now runnin' into the ground.
How much have we left unsaid, and is it better that way?
If I were to change my mind now, would that even be allowed?
I want you here, but I don't know how to tie you down.
-I don't wanna hold you back. -I don't wanna hold you back.
-Something feels wrong about it. -Something feels wrong about it.
But I'm feelin' all that luck. Oh, I want you so bad.
I feel happy and sad.
-Feel happy and sad. -It's been makin' me mad.
-It's been makin' me mad.
-I know that one of these days, we're gonna -look back and- -We're gonna look back and-
I still want you here, but I won't know how.
I still want you here, but I won't know how to tie you down.
