Chevy Silverado

It smells of petrol, summer, and something long gone but still lingering. The old Chevy still growls somewhere on the sidelines of memory - as if starting it up again would take you back to that night when kisses mingled with the smell of dust and asphalt. Back when you still believed that roads led not away, but to someone.

But now the steering wheel turns by itself, the radio plays songs about ‘hearts that have grown cold,’ and even the air in the car feels foreign. Just a guy and his car, driving through his own past to make sure it's really over. Although, maybe not completely - after all, the engine still starts with half a turn.
