It sounds like an anthem in a beer glass: loud, bold and absolutely uncompromising. Each ‘jawoi!’ flies into the hall not as a word, but as a punch on an oak table, after which everyone around stands up and sings along in unison. There is no room here for philosophy or subtle lyrics - only foam, the clinking of mugs and the feeling that together you can shout down even the Alps.

The song smells of bread and hops, as if it were born in a noisy beer tent at Oktoberfest. Everything in it is extremely simple: Bavaria is there, beer is there, so life is good. And in this straightforwardness lies the real thrill: sometimes all you need is Weissbier, a couple of friends and a chorus that you repeat endlessly.
