I Want Things to Be Beautiful

It sounds like the confession of someone who has stared at grey walls for too long and suddenly remembered that beauty does exist. But the memory of it has been erased, just like chalk on a school blackboard. Do we need to learn to believe again that the world can be more than just dreary and broken?

There is a lot of weariness in these words, but even more quiet stubbornness. It's as if there is an internal struggle: will all this survive the changes or crumble at the first gust of wind? And at the same time, between the lines, there is a strange familiarity with pain, with cold streets and ‘empty bodies’ along the way. So familiar that it hardly touches you anymore.

But above all this, the main refrain sounds - the desire for beauty. Almost childish, a little desperate, but lively because of that. And it is this that makes the track not hopeless, but rather like the first morning after a long sleepless night: it is still dark, but somewhere ahead, the light is beginning to break through.
