Relationships are sometimes like an old flat: the walls seem to be standing, but everything is held together with tape and habit. No matter how hard you try to patch things up, one day it will flare up so badly that it will be easier to burn it down than to repair it. This is exactly that feeling - when you no longer have the strength to argue, and saying goodbye is louder than any words.
