It seems as if at some point my heart decided to go on a quest to ‘do stupid things and then regret them.’ And, of course, the final boss is the realisation that love has slipped away, and with it the chance to ‘do everything right’. There are no loud accusations or hysterics here - just a quiet request to the heavens to rewind the tape while there is still time to fix things.
It sounds like an inner monologue after a sleepless night: when everything is already clear, but you stubbornly look for a loophole - even a small chance to replay. There is a lot of tenderness, a little self-flagellation, and in every line there is that feeling when your chest hurts and feels warm at the same time. The music seems to stroke your head and at the same time reminds you: yes, you missed your chance, but still learn to be the person that someone else deserves to have by their side.
