Drenched

The sunny taste of yesterday clings to my hair, and the room is like a bed after rain: music is playing, the windows are closed, and suddenly it seems as if the whole world has been put on hold. Somewhere between achievements and a phone with empty notifications, childhood hides - that laughter when falling was not scary and spinning was the meaning of life. I want to turn summer up to the max, get on a plane to the west, or just go out on the balcony and get wet in my little joy. It's a little bitter to realise that ‘I should have just gone out,’ but it's comforting to think that I can start changing my route - even if it's only in my head at first. A slight nostalgia and quiet determination, like a cup of tea on the veranda: tart, cosy, and you want another sip.
