PERDE

The smell of unfulfilled plans and belated regrets is as thick as cigarette smoke in the kitchen at dawn. When you hold on to someone for too long, the past begins to live in your head like an obsessive melody that you cannot turn off. There is fatigue and self-irony: yes, I made the wrong choice again, I came up with a scenario where everything is ‘us’ again, even though it was long time ago that I should have said ‘me’.

But there is a strange persistence in this pain - as if even on the ruins you can build something new. A mature promise to yourself: enough holding on to other people's hands, it's time to free your own. And it sounds not like a farewell, but like the first step towards finally breathing out.
