Hate Goodbyes

The words are like a little note left on the kitchen table between a cup of coffee and the keys to the flat. Simple to the point of transparency, but that's where the power lies: behind the everyday ‘sorry’ lies a whole whirlwind of feelings. There is no pathos here, only the honesty and awkwardness of a person who doesn't know how to say goodbye. Each ‘I don't want to hurt you’ sounds like an attempt to persuade time to stop for at least a second. But time, as we know, always winks and moves on - leaving a soft residue of hatred for goodbyes and too-quick ‘blink-blink’ moments in the heart.
