Somewhere Over Laredo

✈️When reality is a plastic cup with ice, a cramped seat by the window and twenty minutes until landing, your head stubbornly remains somewhere else entirely. Where the desert glows, where the river whispers under the moon, where the silver buckle on your jeans shines a little brighter than the stars in the dark.

Yes, it didn't work out. Yes, I shouldn't have started in the first place. But who can stop it all, when even at an altitude of thirty thousand feet, my heart still lies on the banks of the Rio, next to the one who knew how to hug as if there were no tomorrow.

So we fly - westward, into the sky, away from ourselves, but a little closer to those memories that smell of dust, leather and one big mistake that I still regret a little.
